The newbuilding LNG carrier jointly owned by MOL and Tokyo LNG Tanker Co. Ltd. was named 'Energy Liberty' today in a naming ceremony at the Tsu Shipyard of Japan Marine United Corporation (JMU).
President Tokyo Gas Co. Ltd, Michiaki Hirose gave the name "Energy Liberty" to the vessel.
Energy Liberty LNG Tanker will be the eighth LNG carrier owned and managed by Tokyo LNG Tanker. Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd will directly manage six of those vessels, including Energy Liberty vessel.
After delivery, the vessel will transport LNG from the Cove Point Project in the U.S. to Tokyo Gas.
