Panama Canal Unveils New Tool for Emissions Reduction

Panama Canal Authority (ACP) has unveiled a new tool "Emissions Calculator" which will help operators assess their carbon emissions, rank those who have reduced emissions by transiting the Canal versus alternate routes, and encourage the decarbonization of vessels.

Six Crew Kidnapped from German-owned Vessel off Nigeria

Six crew members from a German-owned containership, including the captain, were kidnapped from the Liberian-flagged containership Demeter while the ship was sailing some 50 nautical miles south-west of Bonny, Nigeria on October 21st.

New LNG Carrier for Tokyo Gas is named 'Energy Liberty'

The newbuilding LNG carrier jointly owned by MOL and Tokyo LNG Tanker Co. Ltd. was named 'Energy Liberty' today in a naming ceremony at the Tsu Shipyard of Japan Marine United Corporation (JMU).

President Tokyo Gas Co. Ltd, Michiaki Hirose gave the name "Energy Liberty" to the vessel.
